I am a Surrey based printmaker/illustrator working in a variety of styles and media. My work is often inspired by symmetry and natural forms, either observed or imagined, and I like to use intricate detail and pattern to create images. I handmake prints using linocut, etching, photolitho and monoprint, textured with elements of chine collé and collage. To achieve the delicate pattern in my illustrations I use fineliner pens, and sometimes translate these drawings into photolitho prints.
Education and Career
I studied Graphics, Typography and Illustration at the Reigate School of Art and Design, and in my final year I won the Royal Society of Arts student design award which enabled me to do research at the leading design studios in the USA.
For years I worked as a senior graphic designer in a top London consultancy, creating pack designs for leading brands, but then moved into education and taught A level, NVQ and Foundation Year graphics.
I am currently working as a printmaker, freelance artist and workshop leader at Watts Gallery, continuing to experiment and learn at Morley College, London.
